Mission & Goals


Mission:

To bring professional studio recording experience to aspiring young songwriters in the Gallatin Valley.

Educational Goals:

  • Students will learn organizational and communication skills by preparing their entries in audio and written form
  • Winners will learn organizational and communication skills by preparing their arrangement and and pre-production ideas
  • While recording with professional musicians, students will learn ways of communication through music
  • While recording with professional musicians, students will learn the importance of an accurate and energetic performance
  • Through recording, students will reflect upon their sound and abilities, paving a path for their musical future


HMDSS Goals:

  • HMDSS will facilitate relationships with many private and public school music teachers and students in the Gallatin Valley
  • HMDSS will produce a compilation CD featuring the songwriting talent of young musicians in the Gallatin Valley
  • HMDSS will have a compilation CD to raise awareness of the concrete possibilities of its mission(s) and to sell as a fund raising device
  • HMDSS will forge and maintain relationships with local recording studios and professional musicians in the community
